I had a chance to witness deposit using Ecobank ATM machine for the first time ( not withdrawal as traditional ATM's in Africa are known for ) . Suddenly movies like Terminator 2 (T2), Irobot (film), Idiocracy etc came to mind.These movies predicted how the future would look like in terms of how humans interact with technology. Everything in these movies begins with beautiful painless coexistence of humans and technology until there is a struggle for supremacy/power.
Self driving cars + Mobile money + ATM deposit + my resent visit to the Tema harbor seeing how the paperless systems in place + Lynda, Coursera, khan academy etc transforming education + online marketing taking over traditional marketing of banners, flyers, billboards etc
1. The computers are winning 2.There is a need to take ICT studies seriously irrespective of your educational background be it business, social science etc 3. Most jobs are going to be lost in the near future thanks to technology 4. Education will be hugely based outside the solid class room to screens 5. Events organised with all marketing done online 6. Humans using our brain less(Digital dementia ) to work or think through products or services or important decisions
My personal advice don't play catch up and also don't be overly dependent on tech for personal decisons
